DANIEL FERRARI, P.ENG.

Daniel Ferrari is the President of TSS Building Science Inc. In this role, his primary focus is on the coordination and execution of technical services.

Mr. Ferrari is an ambitious, action-oriented, practical leader, experienced in the design and construction of major private and public sector building assets. He is a trustworthy relationship manager who can quickly establish professional and personal rapport with clients, vendors and landlords, with a primary focus on overall client satisfaction.

His practical approach to design is founded upon an educational background in Architecture and Civil Engineering, coupled with over ten years of experience in structural design, building sciences and construction management. A primary focus of Mr. Ferrari’s field experience is in the investigation and rehabilitation of long-term serviceability problems in existing structures.

Through his professional experiences, he demonstrates strategic thinking and planning with a proven ability to provide clients with effective and efficient strategies for asset preservation, management, and development. In his previous experiences within the consulting industry, Mr. Ferrari acted as a project manager and structural design engineer responsible for coordinating and executing structural analyses, condition assessments, designs, architectural layouts, as well as comprehensive component and material testing programs.

Mr. Ferrari is trained in the practice of engineering (Structural) from the University of Ottawa.

In addition to his training as a structural engineer, Mr. Ferrari holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a Certificate of Project Management; both obtained from the University of Toronto.

Mr. Ferrari is a member the following Provincial Associations and holds the following licenses and certificates:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer of Ontario

  • Certificate of Authorization from Professional Engineers Ontario 

  • Licensed Professional Engineer of Alberta

  • Licensed Professional Engineer of Manitoba

SLOAN ALESSANDRO

Sloan Alessandro is project coordinator at TSS Building Science, where he assists in the design and implementation of building envelope related projects. Over his numerous roles in the construction and environmental industry, Sloan has established an adaptable skill set that allows him to support the expansion of disciplines within the company. From installing green roofs on high rises in the downtown core of Toronto, to managing large civil projects in Fort McMurray, Sloan has a diverse background and will continue to grow within his current role. 

Esmat Rashid is a member of the, Association of Architectural Technologists of Ontario which is a licenced group of architectural and building technologists and technicians. 

Esmat has studied Architectural Technology at Fanshawe College in London Ontario and has worked in the field of study since 2003.  Starting his working career in the manufacturing side of the building sciences industry and later moving to the industrial, commercial and institutional side shortly after that his broad range of experience working on different building types is invaluable. 

Esmat has experience working with AutoCAD, but works principally as a project manager from the design concept phase of the project, staying involved right up to the close out documents.

Outside of providing a great end product to any job, knowing the client is pleased and feels like Esmat has placed them first is the ultimate project goal Esmat tries to attain on each job.

ESMAT RASHID, M.A.A.T.O

EDUCATION

Esmat studied Architectural Technology at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario and has worked in this field of study since 2003.

Frank is our Lead Project Manager who works with facility managers, owners, and other clients to guide them through the multiple phases of the construction process.

Frank has worked throughout Canada and the United States working on projects ranging from small-scale to complex, including telecommunications, casinos, food manufacturing plants, and transportation services, to name a few.

Interviewed by Professional Roofing Magazine, Frank also sits the OIRCA Design Committee, and as a part of his commitment to the industry, he continues to educate himself and others throughout his career.

FRANK ANASTASOPOULOS, BArchSc

EDUCATION

Frank has his Bachelor of Architectural Science from Ryerson University. Since graduating, he has been involved in the building envelope field for over three decades, specializing in roof replacements.

KAREN CAREY

SHAWN IRANI, BAT, C. E. T., RRO

Shawn started his career working with soil and asphalt testing and assessment, and then found his passion in the building envelope industry.

 

Over his ten years of experience working in the construction field, Shawn has held many positions. His primary role is as Project Manager, but he also conducts inspections and assessments, and develops designs and specifications within his field of work.

Shawn strives to ensure successful end results from both client and contractor, consistently assuring all parties understand the problems at hand, and that they can work together to produce a respectable solution.

EDUCATION

Shawn graduated from George Brown College in 2008 with a Bachelor of Technology in Construction Environment, Regulation and Compliance.

 

Shawn is a Certified Engineering Technologist with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) and is a member of the Roofing Consultant Institute (RCI Inc.).

 

He was awarded the title of Registered Roofing Observer in 2012, and as of 2018, he is on the board of directors for the RCI Ontario chapter, where he operates as the Vice President.

AFFILIATIONS

Karen has over twenty years of corporate experience in project management, training and development, health and safety, and new-product introduction. Three years ago, she joined TSS Building Science as Office Administrator.

In her spare time, she gives back to her community in her role as Captain and Canvasser for The Heart & Stroke Foundation, a position she’s served in for the last ten years. She has also been an integral member of the 100 Women of Uxbridge fundraising group for the last two years.

EDUCATION

Karen graduated from Ryerson University with a major in Business Finance. She then obtained her Project Management Certificate from Toronto’s Schulich School of Business at York University.

ANDREW DONALDSON

Andrew joined TSS in 2008. Since then, he has helped diversify the company while consistently achieving year-over-year revenue, profitability and client growth.

Before joining TSS Building Science, Andrew was an Account Manager with Ontario Lottery Gaming Corporation. Now, Andrew is responsible for the day-to-day operations and general management of the company, a role he assumed after the passing of his father, Colin Donaldson in 2015.

Through his time in the company, Andrew has proven that he is a capable, results-orientated individual who, along with the TSS Team, has successfully increased efficiency and productivity. Andrew possesses an excellent client-facing skillset and is a passionate and driven individual who has the ability to keep a level head at all times. One of Andrew’s key roles is to assist in defining the company’s direction by evaluating opportunities through maintaining constant interaction with clients, manufacturers and contractors, with the ultimate goal of company growth.

 

In order to constantly stay on top of of new technologies and leading industry information, Andrew actively participates in a variety of industry events, sits on multiple association committees, and attends various education seminars and training courses.

DAVE BESSANT

Since 1982, David has dedicated his focus and ability to the roofing and building envelope industry.

 

As our Senior Project Manager, David works directly with our clients to guide them through the construction process, starting with assessments and extending to design, tendering, and quality assurance inspections.

 

A leader in his community, David passionately participates in several annual fundraisers for causes, including Ride for Dad, National Service Dogs of Canada, and Ride for Sick Kids Hospital.

 

David’s decades of experience working coast to coast have established him as a specialist in flat and sloped roofing, metal roofing, wall assembly construction, and waterproofing. Even with his extensive experience, and as he thrives in his career, David remains committed to furthering his education and work in the industry.   

DEANNA D'AMBROSIO, OFFICE MANAGER

Deanna D’Ambrosio is a seasoned Project Coordinator and Office Manager with over 20 years of experience, having held positions in the financial, real estate, construction and business fields. She is a results driven, self-motivated and resourceful Project Coordinator with and in depth understanding of all aspects of Project coordination and implementation.

 

Deanna joined TSS Building Science Inc. as an Office Manager with a primary focus on client relations, ensuring employee growth and satisfaction and maintaining project flow;  she is also involved in the development, updating and monitoring of business action plans to promote company growth.

 

In addition to her duties as Office Manager, Deanna is also active in many organizations in her community. She is part of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel as a former Big Sister for 10 years and currently sits on the Recruitment and Event Planning Committees. Deanna just received an Award for 15 Years of Service with BBBS.
